Juan Maria Sanchez Secades has a long experience in dealing with digital video imaging, and has previously been involved in research projects the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He has also worked with researchers from Columbia University in New York. He has a degree with honors in Computer Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, as well as a Master's Degree in Computer Vision by the same institution.

Mr. Sanchez Secades is currently finishing his PhD on digital video analysis, representations and structuring, and for the meantime he will simultaneously carry out his research activities and his new responsibilities as Director of the Visual Century Research Division.
