| Amsterdam,
13 September 2002 - Visual Century, along
with its partner Software AG, will present
its ViA2 Platform solution for managing rich
media content, such as video, images and audio
clips, at the IBC 2002 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
ViA2 Platform, developed entirely by Visual
Century, is a complete solution to capture
digital or analog video, analyze it, annotate
it, and publish it on the internet or any
other means. It includes: TvIngest, for
automatic video analysis, expandable with
several plug-ins; Visual Annotation Tool,
a metadata expansion solution offering quick
video navigation and annotation; and Visual
Context Line, an innovative way to easily
locate and preview visual content saving
time and bandwidth for both the user and
the video server.
Visual Century's ViA2 Platform uses Software
AG's Tamino XML Server to store the metadata
extracted from video and audio files, which
has lead to a strong relationsip between
both companies. "XML technology and
our Tamino XML Server are ideal complements
to the Visual Century solution. XML lays
the groundwork for leveraging existing content
within a company for further areas of application,
thereby creating additional revenue potential",
explains Thomas Zanzinger, Director of ISV
and OEM channels at Software AG.
At IBC 2002, Visual Century and Software
AG will share stand 129 in Hall 9, in the
Media Asset Management Village. IBC is the
most important European broadcasting convention
and will take place in Amsterdam on September
13-17, 2002.
